HƯƠNG SEN CARE GROUP FOR PRISONERS
As Bhikkhunis, the Buddha’s disciples, volunteer to sacrifice their health and time to help beings. To serve our community with compassion, especially in the pandemic Covid-19, the nuns and Buddhist temple volunteers at Hương Sen Temple are available to provide caring services that help alleviate the suffering of people in need:
- Visit, guide meditation, sharing the Dharma, offer books and correspondence with prisoners.
Since 2007, Venerable Abbess Bhikkhuni Giới Hương has visited, supported and written letters to many prisoners. She describes her service in prisons in two books: Nữ Tu và Tù Nhân Hoa Kỳ (Vietnamese) and American Nuns and Prisoners (English).
